Welcome to Brian Mear (Bricks) Limited online,
We were formed in November 1996 by Brian Mear. As Brian spent the last 13 years working for Britain's leading brick manufacturer, such a move was a natural progression to a career which has spanned more than 35 years within the construction industry. The concept of a 'brick library', whilst not totally unique, has been approached from the angle of providing a level of technical expertise and customer service which cannot generally be matched by builders merchants and other brick factors. The aim is to be able to source a material which will as closely as possible, match the existing materials on the building or site area.
This is also supported by a high level of technical information and advice t hat enables the purchaser to make the most informed, cost effective judgement about the materials proposed for the construction project in question. This technical advice also extends to providing an on site matching service and to quantifying materials from drawings if required.
The Brick Library contains a vast array of brick samples, approaching 500 in number. Also on show are pavers, slabs, flagstones, cast stone products roof tiles and also pre-mixed coloured mortars. One interesting feature is the display of special shaped and decorative bricks. The 'pig brick' being one of the most popular examples of a decorative brick, this incorporates a pig motif, raised upon the face of the brick itself , ideal for that feature fireplace, or garden barbecue. Similarly almost anything can be fashioned in clay and incorporated into or onto bricks to create a decorative effect, names, dates and various images have been used by several customers, indeed some of the most imaginative have produced designs for their own coat of arms, which can then be transferred onto brick plaques.
In addition to the library, the company have built up a stock of selected products which can be despatched at very short notice. Whatever your project, be it a sizeable development, a new house, a small extension or even a simple fireplace, Brian Mear (Bricks) are happy to oblige as they say 'to us a difficult job is a challenge'. |
