Paving Stone
paving stone is an interlocking concrete paver that is a pre cast piece of concrete or brick that is commonly used in exterior landscaping applications. They were developed in Europe and then introduced in the United States in the early 1970s, these interlocking concrete paver offers a alternative to plain concrete and or asphalt. They are placed over a compacted stone sub base and levelling bed of sand, these pavers can be used for walkways, patios, pool decks, driveways and airports. By pressing the dry concrete in to the moulds will allow the maximum compressive strength making the pavers far more durable than the clay bricks and poured in place concrete. Clay pavers have the added advantage that they are resistant to fading from the sun against long-term exposure to the elements from being outside. The do not also require a seal coat to prevent staining this means that they are easy to maintain and long lasting. However as they are a natural material the colours of the paving is limited. Concrete on the other hand has a limitless colour spectrum by using white and adding pigments for the desired colour.
